Prof Ahmad Fauzi Ismail, dean of Research for Material and Manufacturing Research Alliance, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia will inaugurate the conference. Dr Girish G. Rao from Shell Technologies, Bangalore and Prof Swapan Bhattacharya, director of NITK Surathkal will be present.
According to NIT-K release, this is the first international conference being organized by the department of chemistry.
The conference offers in-depth exposure to the latest developments in chemistry and materials by internationally and nationally reputed scientists and experts.
Key topics include advances in nanomaterials, membrane technology, medicinal chemistry, natural products, liquid crystals, organic electronics, polymers, electrochemistry, supramolecular chemistry, crystal engineering and latest developments in the functional materials.
The conference also provides a contemporary foundation for addressing problems in chemistry and materials research.
It will benefit students, young researchers, industrial participants and teachers.
About 260 participants from all over the country have registered for this conference.
Invited speakers from USA, Singapore, Sweden, Malaysia and Indonesia and from IITs and industrial experts will be present.
